Handmade
is the New Luxury

Bookings for Classes are Now Open

The studio is open to beginners as well as experience potters and ceramicist. The classes are small, no more than 6 persons per class.  The studio has all the equipment and facilities to create modest or very intricate work. As I specialise in hand building and slab work, to all potters that want to use the wheel, please note that I am not very experienced on the wheel. I can assist in the basics of wheel throwing. To all experienced potters who would like to make use of the wheels, you are welcome to come and use the facilities. Wheel throwing workshops will be held during the year with guest lecturers.

I do suggest that students attend their classes consecutively on the weekday they started, this is to create a sense of community and friendship in the classes. And to make sure work gets done and fired on time with the rest of the group.

Koringberg is 1 hours drive from Cape Town, 10 minutes from Moorreesburg and 20 minutes from Piketberg.

Leon Potgieter

I have been doing ceramics and sculpture throughout my life and want to share this passion I have for clay on a physical and energy level. Clay can transform you on all levels; is it to de-stress, getting dirty, build something spectacular or get in touch with earth’s energy. Come and join me in Koringberg on a journey of discovery, as we are the Epicurans of Clay
